Covers every family-rank taxon entity in this atlas identified by its own sourced description as an amphibian family under the standard herpetological classification ITIS and the Catalogue of Life both follow, among them the true toads of Bufonidae, the true frogs of Ranidae, the tree frogs of Hylidae and the newts and true salamanders of Salamandridae. A small subcategory by the sample currently catalogued in this atlas, not a real-world ceiling: the true number of described amphibian families is larger, and this subcategory is expected to grow as the atlas mints more amphibian taxa, per ruling 792's comprehensive-coverage target.
