Living Amphibian Orders is a Browse By group of the Nature Atlas that gathers the three orders of living amphibians, the frogs and toads of Anura, the salamanders and newts of Caudata and the limbless caecilians of Gymnophiona. An entry belongs here when its own cited article describes an order of amphibians that has living species today. It excludes the extinct amphibian orders known only from fossils. The three living orders differ greatly in body plan, from the tailless jumping frog to the long-tailed salamander to the worm-like burrower, yet all share thin, moist skin and a life that is tied to water or damp ground, so the group lets a reader compare the whole living branch side by side.
