Detritivore or Scavenger

Diet groups species by what they mainly eat: herbivores that feed on plants, carnivores that feed on other animals, omnivores that eat both, and narrower feeding styles such as insectivores, piscivores, filter feeders, detritivores and scavengers, and parasitic species that live on or in a host. A species is placed by its own typical adult feeding behavior as described on its page, not by an occasional or unusual meal.
