Australian pelican

The Australian pelican (Pelecanus conspicillatus) is a large waterbird in the family Pelecanidae, found across inland and coastal waters of Australia and New Guinea as well as Fiji, parts of Indonesia and occasionally New Zealand. It is predominantly white with black wings and a pink bill, and has been recorded as having the longest bill of any living bird, feeding mainly on fish while also taking birds and scavenging opportunistically. It is legally protected, shows no immediate adverse effects from pollution, and is assessed as Least Concern.
