Red Slate Ornamental Tarantula (Poecilotheria rufilata), also known as the reddish parachute spider or Travancore slate red, is an arboreal tarantula endemic to the South Western Ghats of India. It is classified as endangered, threatened by habitat loss and smuggling for the pet trade.
