Matteuccia is a genus of ferns containing a single species, Matteuccia struthiopteris, commonly known as the ostrich fern, fiddlehead fern or shuttlecock fern; its species name comes from the Ancient Greek words for ostrich and fern, describing the shape of its fronds.
