Short-tailed Whipscorpion

Schizomida, commonly called short-tailed whipscorpions, are small, pale arachnids found in soil, leaf litter and caves in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. They resemble their larger relatives the vinegaroons and whip spiders but carry a short, segmented tail rather than a long flagellum, and use a pair of long, whip-like front legs modified as sensory organs to feel their way through the dark microhabitats where they hunt small invertebrates.
