Habitat

Habitat names the specific kind of place a species actually lives. Wikipedia notes the giant panda "lives exclusively in six montane regions in a few Chinese provinces at elevations of up to 3,000 m," a narrow habitat that has shaped both its diet and its conservation status. This dimension groups species that depend on the same kind of habitat.
