Covers every genus-rank taxon entity in this atlas identified by its own sourced description as a bird genus under the standard avian classification (the IOC World Bird List and Clements checklist, both followed by ITIS and the Catalogue of Life), spanning the dabbling ducks of Anas, the great penguins of Aptenodytes, the New World jays and choughs of the crow family Corvidae such as Cyanocorax and Pyrrhocorax, and the Asian thrushes of Zoothera. Excludes every reptile or fish genus that happens to share a similarly formed name, and every genus whose members are not birds even where a common name might suggest otherwise.
