Rhinoceros Hornbill

The rhinoceros hornbill is a large hornbill native to the rainforests of the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Borneo and Java, named for the large upward-curving casque on top of its enormous bill, which resembles a rhinoceros horn. Its plumage is mostly black with a white tail crossed by a black band, and the bill and casque are typically orange to red with a yellow base. It is largely frugivorous, playing an important role in dispersing seeds through the forest, and it is the state bird of Sarawak, Malaysia.
