Northern wheatear

The northern wheatear is a small passerine bird in the Old World flycatcher family and the most widespread member of the wheatear genus Oenanthe across Europe and North and Central Asia. A migratory, insectivorous species, it breeds in open stony country across the Palearctic with additional footholds in northeastern and northwestern Canada, Greenland and Alaska, nesting in rock crevices and rabbit burrows, and nearly all birds winter in Africa.
