This group gathers Flowering Plants subcategory members belonging to the order Myrtales, a rosid order whose flowers typically bear numerous stamens around a central ovary and whose leaves are often dotted with visible oil glands. It spans the myrtle family Myrtaceae, source of the eucalypts of Australia, the clove, the guava and the allspice, and the evening-primrose family Onagraceae, whose members include the willowherbs and fireweeds recognized by four-petaled, often pink or magenta flowers.
