Kentish plover

The Kentish plover is a small wader in the family Charadriidae that breeds on the shores of saline lakes, lagoons and coasts, and can also be found in sand dunes, marshes, semi-arid desert and tundra. Both sexes have pale plumage with a white underside and a grey-brown back, dark legs and a dark bill, but males additionally show dark, incomplete breast bands and dark markings on the sides of the head, making the species sexually dimorphic.
