Larix potaninii is a species of larch in the conifer family Pinaceae, found only in west-central China across southeastern Gansu, southern Shaanxi, Sichuan, eastern Tibet and northwestern Yunnan, where it grows at altitudes of roughly 2,000 to 4,300 meters. The species is named for the Russian botanist and explorer Grigory Potanin, who discovered it in May 1893 near Tatsienlu in western Sichuan.
