Narrow-leaf Araucaria

The narrow-leaf araucaria is a conifer in the family Araucariaceae endemic to New Caledonia, found scattered across the central and southern mountains of Grande Terre, especially Mont Dzumac and Mont des Sources. It is among the taller New Caledonian araucarias, reaching about 50 meters, and young trees resemble the Norfolk Island pine in growth habit. The IUCN Red List classifies it as Near Threatened, though its populations are considered stable and were not judged threatened or endangered in the most recent assessment.
