Spearpoint Leaf-tailed Gecko

The spearpoint leaf-tailed gecko, also called Ebenau's leaf-tailed gecko or the Nosy Be flat-tail gecko, is the smallest species in its genus, reaching only about 4 inches in total length. It is found on Nosy Be island and in eastern and northern Madagascar from sea level up to 500 meters, in tropical rainforest and dry deciduous forest. It is arboreal and nocturnal, sleeping flattened and camouflaged against tree bark by day and hunting insects at night, and is classified as Vulnerable.
