Xanthorrhoea is a genus of about thirty species of succulent flowering plants endemic to Australia, known by names including grass tree, grass gum tree, kangaroo tail, balga, yakka, yamina, and black boy. The most common and widely recognized species is Xanthorrhoea australis, and several of these common names are used specifically for that plant.
