Pacu is a common name for several species of omnivorous South American freshwater fish in the family Serrasalmidae, related to piranhas. Unlike piranhas, pacu have squarer, straighter teeth and a less pronounced underbite, feed mainly on plant material rather than flesh, and can grow much larger, reaching up to 1.08 meters in length and 40 kilograms in weight.
