Northern Crested Newt

The northern crested newt, also called the great crested newt or warty newt, is native to Great Britain, northern and central continental Europe, and parts of Western Siberia. It is a large newt, with females growing up to 16 centimetres long, dark brown on the back and sides with a yellow to orange belly marked by dark blotches. During the breeding season, males develop a conspicuous jagged crest along their back and tail.
