King Fern

King fern, Angiopteris evecta, is a fern of the family Marattiaceae native to tropical Asia, Australia and the Pacific islands, notable as one of the largest-fronded ferns in the world, with fronds that can reach several meters in length. It belongs to an ancient lineage of ferns with a fossil record extending back hundreds of millions of years, and its massive, fleshy underground stem distinguishes it from most other living ferns, which typically have much smaller rhizomes.
