Hippoidea is a superfamily of decapod crustaceans commonly called mole crabs or sand crabs, marine animals of the infraorder Anomura within the order Decapoda adapted for burrowing into sandy substrates. The superfamily was formally named by Latreille in 1825 and comprises three families distinguished by features suited to life on sandy beaches.
