Idaea rusticata, known by the common name the least carpet, is a moth in the family Geometridae, first described by Michael Denis and Ignaz Schiffermuller in 1775. It has a wingspan of about 19 to 21 millimeters, with whitish or cream colored wings marked by dark brown transverse lines and small black spots. The species is found across most of Europe, the Near East and North Africa, and its range extends east through Asia Minor to Mongolia; in Britain its population grew markedly between 1968 and 2007.
