Malus orientalis

Malus orientalis, known as the eastern crabapple or Caucasus apple, is a species of flowering plant in the family Rosaceae, native to Bulgaria, Turkey's East Thrace region, the Caucasus, Iran, and Afghanistan. It bears relatively large yellow fruit that has been eaten for millennia, with dried fruit found in a royal tomb at Ur, and it contributed genetic material to domesticated apples alongside Malus sieversii and Malus sylvestris.
