Senna alexandrina

Senna alexandrina, also called Alexandrian senna, is a flowering plant in the genus Senna, valued for its medicinal properties. It grows naturally in upper Egypt, particularly in the Nubian region and near Khartoum in Sudan, where it is cultivated at a large scale. Beyond its native range, it is also grown commercially in India and Somalia, and has been cultivated for therapeutic use in southern Kazakhstan as well.
