Selenicereus grandiflorus

Flowering Plants

Selenicereus grandiflorus is a cactus species native to the Antilles, Mexico, and Central America, including Cuba, the Cayman Islands, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, and Nicaragua. It is commonly called queen of the night or night-blooming cereus, names also applied to other cactus species, as well as large-flowered cactus, sweet-scented cactus, and vanilla cactus. The true species is extremely rare in cultivation, and most plants sold under these common names actually belong to other species or hybrids, or are confused with the related genus Epiphyllum. It is assessed as Least Concern by the IUCN. This description is adapted from Wikipedia contributors under CC BY-SA 4.0; changes were made. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/
