Ruta graveolens

Ruta graveolens, commonly known as rue or common rue, is a species in the genus Ruta grown as an ornamental plant and herb, native to the Mediterranean region. It is cultivated in gardens worldwide for its bluish foliage and tolerance of hot, dry soil, and is used as a culinary herb, an insect repellent and an ingredient in incense. Its species name, graveolens, refers to the strong smell of its leaves.
