Crotalus scutulatus salvini

Crotalus scutulatus salvini, commonly known as the Huamantlan rattlesnake, is a venomous pit viper currently classified as a subspecies of the Mohave rattlesnake, Crotalus scutulatus. It is found in mainland Mexico, at the southern end of that species' range. Its subspecific name honors the nineteenth century British naturalist Osbert Salvin.
