Bifid crestwort, Lophocolea bidentata, is a liverwort in the family Lophocoleaceae, part of the division Marchantiophyta. Ecological research in Ecuador found the species largely absent from urban sites even where nearby pristine habitat supported it, suggesting the plant is sensitive to pollution such as wastewater and heavy metal contamination.
