Narcissus poeticus

Narcissus poeticus, commonly called the poet's daffodil, is a fragrant flowering plant and the type species of the genus Narcissus, in the family Amaryllidaceae. It grows 20 to 40 centimeters tall and bears a flower with a ring of pure white tepals surrounding a short, light yellow corona edged in red. The species is native to central and southern Europe, from Spain and France through Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, Greece and Ukraine, and has naturalized in Great Britain, parts of North America and New Zealand. It is also known as poet's narcissus, nargis, pheasant's eye, findern flower and pinkster lily, names reflecting its long history of cultivation.
