Giant Trevally

The giant trevally is a large, powerfully built predatory fish of the family Carangidae, found around reefs, atolls, and coastal waters throughout the Indo-Pacific. It is among the largest fish in its family, hunting other fish, crustaceans, and cephalopods with fast, aggressive strikes, and is known to follow larger animals such as monk seals to snatch prey they disturb. Prized as both a food and game fish, it is a popular target of sport anglers across its range.
