Big shaggy-moss (Rhytidiadelphus triquetrus), also called rough goose-neck moss or electrified cat's tail moss for its fuzzy, tail-like appearance, is a moss of the family Hylocomiaceae. It often dominates moderately rich forest habitats in the boreal regions and the Pacific Northwest, growing on humus-rich soil in montane forests, and occasionally on logs and trees in lowland rainforest or on sandy-gravelly soil near streams.
