Dryopidae

Dryopidae is a family of beetles in the order Coleoptera and superfamily Byrrhoidea, commonly named long-toed water beetles, described by Gustaf Johan Billberg in 1820. They are distinguished by elongated claws and dense body hair that enables underwater respiration; as female beetles age their flight muscles deteriorate, and when the pupae reach adulthood they migrate toward flowing water and may be attracted to light sources.
