Hummingbird Hawk-moth, scientifically Macroglossum stellatarum, is a species of hawk moth found across temperate regions of Eurasia. It is named for its resemblance to hummingbirds, feeding on nectar from tube-shaped flowers by hovering in the air and using its long proboscis, a resemblance produced by convergent evolution rather than any close relation to hummingbirds.
