Spodoptera litura

Spodoptera litura, known as the tobacco cutworm or cotton leafworm, is a nocturnal moth in the family Noctuidae, first described by Johan Christian Fabricius in 1775. It is a serious polyphagous pest across Asia, Oceania and the Indian subcontinent, with 87 species of host plants of economic importance recorded as infested by its larvae, which feed voraciously and can leave host leaves completely destroyed.
