Angel insects are tiny, rarely noticed insects of the order Zoraptera, one of the smallest insect orders known, living in small colonies in rotting wood, leaf litter and under bark in warm tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. A single colony can include both wingless and winged individuals, with winged forms produced to disperse and found new colonies, and most species feed on fungal spores, mites and other tiny organic debris.
