The taxonomic orders of the prokaryotes, the bacteria and archaea, two of the three domains of life alongside Eukaryota. Covers every order-rank taxon entity in this atlas identified by its own sourced description as a bacterial order (such as Enterobacterales, Lactobacillales and Rickettsiales, under the standard bacteriological classification the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature, LPSN, and the Catalogue of Life both follow) or an archaeal order (such as Halobacteriales, Methanobacteriales, Methanococcales, Sulfolobales and Thermococcales). A single subcategory covering two domains rather than one, because both domains together make up the prokaryotes with no order-rank ambiguity between them in this atlas's current catalog; a future split into separate Bacteria Orders and Archaea Orders subcategories is left to a lane that finds the combined count has grown too large to read as one heading.
