Extinct in the Wild

Conservation status groups species by how close each one is to extinction, using the category scale most conservation scientists rely on, running from least concern through near threatened, vulnerable, endangered and critically endangered, to extinct in the wild or extinct. Assessments come from bodies such as the IUCN Red List and are re-checked as a species population changes. A species with no current assessment recorded here is not shown as any of these categories.
