Aloe thraskii

Aloe thraskii, known as the dune aloe, is a plant in the family Asphodelaceae, described by Baker. It is native to South Africa, growing in dune vegetation along the coasts of KwaZulu Natal and the Eastern Cape. It is a tall, fast growing, unbranched aloe that develops a very large rosette of long, pale grey green leaves that are U shaped in cross section and recurve downwards, with orange and yellow flowers borne in short compact cylindrical racemes on multi branched inflorescences. The species is listed on CITES Appendix II, giving it protection under international trade regulations.
