Atlas Cedar

Atlas cedar, Cedrus atlantica, is a conifer of the family Pinaceae native to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and Algeria, for which it is named, growing at elevations between roughly 1,300 and 2,200 meters. A popular ornamental blue-green form, often sold as Glauca, is widely planted in parks and gardens around the world, but the species' wild population in its native North African range has declined sharply due to logging, grazing and drought, leading to its listing as endangered.
