Common tamarisk-moss, Thuidium tamariscinum, is a moss of the family Thuidiaceae named for its finely divided, feathery fronds, which branch repeatedly into a pattern resembling the foliage of a tamarisk shrub rather than growing as simple leafy stems. It has an almost cosmopolitan distribution, forming dense mats on the floor of woodlands and shaded banks, and its sensitivity to the herbicide asulam has made it a subject of study in assessing herbicide impact on non-target woodland bryophytes.
