Phoenicopteriformes is an order of water birds comprising the flamingos and their extinct relatives, known for their pink or reddish plumage, long legs and necks, and distinctively downturned bills used to filter feed. Flamingos and the closely related grebes of order Podicipediformes are placed together in the parent clade Mirandornithes.
