Genus-rank taxa of invertebrate animals outside the class Insecta and the vertebrate classes covered by the atlas's other genus subcategories: the reef-building corals of Acropora, the nautiluses of Allonautilus, the terrestrial hermit crabs of Coenobita, and a range of extinct arthropods, worms and other fossil invertebrates of settled or genuinely uncertain finer placement (including several Strabopidae genera and Cambrian animals such as Nectocaris and Myoscolex) whose own sourced description nonetheless identifies them as animals outside Insecta and the vertebrate classes. Covers every genus-rank taxon entity in this atlas so identified, checked against the standard authority for that group (the World Register of Marine Species for the marine invertebrate genera, the Catalogue of Life and relevant paleontological literature for the extinct genera) rather than a single unified taxonomic scheme, since this subcategory spans several distinct invertebrate phyla and classes rather than one. Excludes every insect genus, grouped separately under Insect Genera.
