Carnivorous plant genera are the genera of plant families whose members trap animals. The Tree of Life lists carnivorous plants in Droseraceae, Drosophyllaceae, Dioncophyllaceae and Nepenthaceae, with Nepenthaceae holding a single genus, Nepenthes, which ranges from Madagascar to New Caledonia. GBIF lists Drosera with about 358 descendant taxa alongside Aldrovanda and Dionaea, Sarracenia with about 94 and Heliamphora with about 35 in the Sarraceniaceae, and Utricularia with about 375, Pinguicula with about 243 and Genlisea with about 37 in the Lentibulariaceae.
