Zygophyllales is an order of dicotyledonous flowering plants comprising two families, Zygophyllaceae and Krameriaceae, formally recognized in the APG III system of 2009 and unchanged in APG IV. Zygophyllaceae, the twinleaf family, contains about 22 genera scattered across dry tropical and temperate regions worldwide, while Krameriaceae contains a single genus native to southern North America and dry parts of South America. Notable members include Guaiacum, valued for its exceptionally hard lumber, and Krameria triandra, used in astringent preparations.
