Lamiales

Plant Orders

Lamiales, also called the mint order, is an order of flowering plants in the asterid clade of the eudicots. Under the APG IV classification it comprises 24 families with about 23,810 species in 1,059 genera found worldwide, including the mint family Lamiaceae, the olive family Oleaceae and the family Acanthaceae, along with many culinary and medicinal herbs such as basil, rosemary, sage, lavender and thyme.
