Cylindrophiidae

Cylindrophiidae is a monotypic family containing a single genus, Cylindrophis, with 14 recognized species, known as Asian pipe snakes. They range across mainland and island Southeast Asia, including Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia Greater and Lesser Sunda Islands, Sri Lanka, and parts of southeastern China. They are secretive, semi fossorial, non venomous snakes with a blunt head not set off from the neck, tiny eyes, pelvic spurs in both sexes, and contrasting light and dark blotching on the underside. Their cylindrical, near uniform body width gives the family its common name, and members range from roughly 5 to 34 inches long.
