Liolaemidae

Liolaemidae is a family of iguanian lizards found only in South America, most widely across Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Uruguay and Paraguay, once classified as the Iguanidae subfamily Liolaeminae. It comprises three genera, Ctenoblepharys with one species, Liolaemus with over 280 species and Phymaturus with 52 species, and is unusual among lizards for evolving herbivory and omnivory independently more times than any other lizard group, with a fruit-heavy diet supported by an enlarged small intestine.
