Pseudoxyrhophiidae is a family of elapoid snakes formerly treated as a subfamily of Lamprophiidae, comprising roughly 22 genera split between the subfamilies Amplorhininae, with three genera, and Pseudoxyrhophiinae, with nineteen. The family is found mostly in Madagascar, making it largely endemic to the island. Its members show considerable diversity in form, illustrated by species such as the giant Malagasy hognose snake, Leioheterodon madagascariensis.
