Sauromalus slevini

Sauromalus slevini, known as the Monserrat chuckwalla or Slevin's chuckwalla, is a lizard in the family Iguanidae. It lives on three small islands in the Sea of Cortes, Isla del Carmen, Isla Coronados and Isla Monserrate, from sea level up to about 1,604 feet. It is brown or olive green on the back with a yellow middorsal band, sometimes marked with spots, marbling or cross banding in red or darker brown, while the head, tail and limbs are solid colored and the underside is dull brown with darker spotting, especially on the throat. Because of its restricted range the species is protected under CITES and is classified as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List; it is named for zoologist Joseph Richard Slevin, curator of herpetology at the California Academy of Sciences from 1928 to 1957.
