Ecosystem

In ecosystem links a species to the larger ecological community it depends on. Wikipedia notes the giant panda is "mostly herbivorous with a diet consisting almost entirely of bamboo and bamboo shoots," tying it tightly to the montane bamboo forest ecosystem of its native range. This dimension groups species that share the same home ecosystem.
